Customized infection prevention and control solutions

APIC Consulting is available for onsite, customized, Ebola-preparedness consultations at individual acute care hospitals and hospital systems. The onsite visit includes a PPE-focused train-the-trainer session for IPs, review of critical aspects of the facility’s Ebola-preparedness plan, and hands-on practice of donning/doffing PPE specific to the new Ebola-related CDC guidance. A similar consultation is available as a train-the-trainer course to state health departments interested in live, hands-on training of IPs throughout their states. In late March 2014, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released results from its recent healthcare-associated infection (HAI) prevalence survey. On any given day, 1 in 25 hospital patients has at least one HAI. There are an estimated 722,000 HAIs in U.S acute care hospitals each year, and about 75,000 hospital patients with HAIs die during their hospitalizations. These staggering statistics do not take into account the HAIs occurring in other practice settings, such as ambulatory surgery centers, long-term care facilities, physician offices and more.

Each HAI compromises the safety of patients, and can cost a facility tens of thousands of dollars. APIC Consulting can help you protect your patients and manage your facility’s risk with HAI prevention strategies tailored to your specific needs.
