State Hospital Associations

State hospital associations often work closely with state health departments to provide assistance in sub-contracting essential infection prevention work to benefit facilities throughout the state. Data auditing

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggests that credible data are vital for prevention, public reporting, and incentivizing improvements in clinical performance.  Hospital associations use data to assure competence, identify weaknesses in surveillance, and enable improvement by teaching.

The ultimate goal of these efforts is to enhance the quality of the data to support surveillance, prevention, and control of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
